Where do you live?
Rural Valley, Pennsylvania
How did you get into the fencing business?
I’ve always had a knack for fencing. Growing up I started with one dairy goat. By the time I graduated high school I had more than 40 breeding does. I’ll never forget the first fence we built– the saying is “if water can get through a fence so can a goat”.
What brought you to Stockade?
Prior to Stockade I was working for Kencove, selling all types of fencing supplies for agricultural applications. I really enjoyed helping people find the ideal fencing solutions for their particular situations. From there, a wonderful co-worker saw the Stockade position and felt I would be a good fit. Now, here we are!
What is the first tool you ever bought and why?
A milk stand for my growing goat herd. I was 12 and tired of the bucket getting kicked over.
What has been the biggest influence in your life?
Agriculture. I grew up on a dairy farm and was very active in 4-H and FFA. I’ve always been impressed with the attitude and values ingrained in the agricultural community.
What makes you laugh without fail?
I have a child’s sense of humour. I enjoy corny jokes and funny videos of animals. I am also really bad at laughing while retelling funny stories.
What’s one life lesson you live by?
You never know what type of day someone is having, so always be kind, positive and upbeat. You could be the only reason someone smiles for the day.
